Heritage Open Days is England’s biggest festival of history and culture. Every year, over four days in September, thousands of sites across the country invite you in to explore local treasures of every age, style and function, and many special events are held. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.
The local programme is coordinated by the Kirklees Heritage Open Days Committee, a Borough-wide partnership, with support from Discover Huddersfield. In 2018 the programme will cover two weekends of varied activities with Discover Huddersfield offering three free walks. All three walks must be pre- booked. Details about how to book and other activities will be found from mid-August at www. heritageopendays.org.uk and in the local brochure.
